Dr. Thomas Fleeter specializes in Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at Town Center Orthopaedics in Centreville and Reston. Dr. Fleeter’s goal is to use the latest and most minimally invasive techniques when performing hip replacement or knee replacement as well as knee or shoulder arthroscopic surgery to allow patients a rapid return to a full and active life.
Dr. Fleeter has been practicing orthopedics since 1984. Originally from Cleveland, OH, he earned his medical degree from Howard University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. Following graduation, he continued advanced training in orthopedic surgery, completing his residency at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
As an orthopedic surgeon, his practice is focused on arthroscopic surgery and hip and knee replacement. This includes ACL reconstruction and knee arthroscopy, and shoulder arthroscopic reconstruction. Additionally, he uses the most advanced techniques, including direct anterior approach hip replacement, robotic knee replacement, and rapid rehabilitation to allow patients with hip replacements and knee replacements an early return to work and exercise.
Serving as the team physician for South Lakes High School in Reston, medical director for the Reston Triathlon, and a consultant to the U.S. Figure Skating team, Dr. Fleeter takes great pleasure in working with young athletes and giving back to his community. As a result, he has been consistently selected as a Top Doctor by Washingtonian Magazine and Washington Checkbook Magazine. He has also been named “Best of Reston” by his peers.
In addition to his extensive community commitments, he enjoys cycling, playing golf, scuba diving, and spending time with his wife and three children.
