Shemila Fasihi Physician Assistant
Shemila Fasihi is a board-certified Physician Assistant who specializes in all aspects of spinal care. She works closely with Dr. Dhruv Pateder in both non-surgical and surgical management of patients in addition to seeing and evaluating patients in her own clinic.
Native to the Northern VA area, she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Biopsychology from George Mason University, which laid the groundwork for her understanding of both the biological and psychological aspects of healthcare. She went on to complete her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Marist University, further honing her clinical skills and medical knowledge.
Shemila brings a unique full-circle perspective to her role as Physician Assistant. She started her career with the practice as a medical assistant, where her passion for patient care and surgery first took shape. After completing PA school, she gained diverse experience in transplant surgery and internal medicine, strengthening her clinical expertise across multiple specialities. Today, she combines that broad background with specialized spine care to support patients through diagnoses, treatment, and recover with compassion and precision.
Outside of work, Shemila enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, working out and traveling.
