Courtney Dougherty, OTD, OTR/L Occupational Therapist
Courtney Dougherty is a board-certified and licensed Occupational Therapist and is dedicated to restoring upper extremity function and enhancing quality of life through personalized, evidence-based care. She is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and American Society of Hand Therapists.
She received her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from the University of Florida, where she focused her advanced clinical training and research on hand therapy and performing arts health. Her doctoral thesis at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City involved developing a musculoskeletal health education program to prevent playing-related injuries in collegiate musicians.
Courtney's treatment approach combines physical recovery with empowering patients to manage their condition and advocate for their health. She believes everyone should engage in meaningful activities, regardless of injury, and creates interventions that align with each patient's values.
Outside of the clinic, she enjoys staying active through fitness, playing the piano, and cheering on the Gators and Eagles with friends and family.
