Dr. Mohammad Ali Khoshnevisan (three parts, pronounced Kosh-Nevy-Sun) specializes in Hand & Wrist Surgery at Town Center Orthopaedics in Ashburn, Centreville, Fairfax, and Reston. Dr. Khoshnevisan is experienced in treating a range of hand, wrist, and upper extremity injuries and conditions. Education and Certification
A native of Germantown, Maryland, Dr. Mohammad Ali Khoshnevisan attended Seneca Valley High School where he was a starting tackle for the 3A Football State Championship team. He continued his education at Juniata College where he majored in Biology and Business Information Technology. He was a four-year member of the football and track & field teams.
After college, he spent a year of residence at Harvard Medical School’s Massachusetts General Hospital serving as a Clinical Coordinator for Hand and Upper Extremity Research, and subsequently completed an M.D./M.B.A. joint-degree program at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University (M.D.) and Widener University (M.B.A in Healthcare Administration). Following graduation, he completed his surgical internship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, and his surgical residency at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, PA.
Dr. Khoshnevisan completed his fellowship in orthopaedic and plastic surgery hand and microsurgery, at the world-renowned Christine M. Kleinert Institute and University of Louisville. During his time in Kentucky, he served at the region’s busiest Level 1 trauma center, where he gained extensive experience in operating on complex hand and upper extremity injuries and conditions.

Dr. Khoshnevisan and his brother Dr. Mohammad Amin Khoshnevisan, an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, are passionate about giving back to the community. They make frequent mission trips to work with underserved children and adults at home and abroad. When not at work, Dr. Khoshnevisan enjoys spending time with his family, hot yoga, hiking, biking, camping, exploring state and national parks, snowboarding, and training for a sprint-triathlon. You can find him rooting for either the University of Michigan Wolverines or the underdog.
